"a garden full of colour and scent where guests can enjoy
tranquility and a closeness to the natural world"

The kitchen herb garden
The development of the kitchen herb garden is an exciting project. Not on the grandiose scale of the original walled garden but on a scale we can manage and develop to produce fresh herbs and some vegetables, daily, for the kitchen.
The herb garden, with a culinary bed and an aromatherapy bed, has also been designed as a place for gentle relaxation and is a natural sun-trap. Bird feeders attract large numbers of wild birds as well as several increasingly bold red squirrels. The rough areas have been seeded with wild flowers and the ancient fruit trees pruned back to encourage new and, hopefully, productive shoots.
Vegetables which we hope to grow this season include:
Early potatoes, carrots, radishes, green vegetables, onions, beetroot and salad crops.
Herbs will include:
Basil, chervil, chives, coriander, dill, fennel, lavender, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme, feverfew, verbena, sweet cicely, silverwood and much more.
We have rustic seats in shady spots and the garden is open at all times. Come along and enjoy it as it develops.
