Trout Fishing

Highland Perthshire is also famed for trout fishing in both the rivers and the numerous lochs in the hills surrounding Pitlochry.

River Trout

High quality trout fishing on the river Tummel, which is used for national and international competitions. It has around 5 miles of lightly fished water.

Loch trout

Loch Broom- wild brownies in a spectacular setting.

Loch Kinnardochy

- brownies under the shadow of Schiehallion.

Loch Bhac

stocked rainbows and browns in peaceful setting.


Loch Dunalastair

wild brownies famed for their size. Each year fish up to 8lbs are caught.
Loch Moraig

wild browns in a beautiful small loch at the base of the Beinn a Ghlos.

With the water temperature staying unseasonally low the first springers have been reluctant to make an attempt at the ladder this year. An early brood of ducklings came….and went. They look so vunerable in their first few days out of the egg, almost like thistledown drifting across the water, and they are with all manner of things ready and waiting to eat them. However other females are still sitting and,with luck, the later broods will make it over these first few days and provide a spectacle on the ponds and lawns this summer.
