Relax For ChristmasOur many regular customers for Christmas recognise the varied facets of our programme – blazing log fires, large, relaxing lounges around our giant tree, dramatic winter views all around and of course a welcoming smile as you arrive for your whisky liqueur. A pampered, but informal Christmas in elegant surroundings, now complemented by our indoor leisure and spa areas, our Museum of Hotel Life, and our many acres of attractive grounds full of interest as you walk – even in winter. What more can you ask for at Christmas? Christmas Eve Our formal programme starts with clarsach and harp music this afternoon, whilst tea is served in the lounges. There will be Champagne before dinner, which is an informal affair – no need to rush the evening. Later on enjoy some more music with your coffee until it’s time – if you wish – to take our transport to the local Watchnight Services. We serve hot chestnuts and mulled wine in the Stagshead before you retire. Christmas Day A leisurely breakfast from the buffet to start the day, and then perhaps a stroll around the grounds to view the Japanese Garden and the waterfalls, or a little further afield to the Black Spout Woods or even Loch Faskally. Before lunch there will be musical entertainment and a glass of punch before Santa arrives with gifts for the children. Once again no need to rush your traditional Christmas meal, there will be plenty! Later on, we serve Christmas cake and tea and from 7pm a delightful fork buffet supper will be served at leisure, followed by traditional accordion music with Donnie Kennedy. Boxing Day Today is your ideal chance to have a look at the surrounding Highlands. By car we suggest Queen’s View, Bruar Falls and nearby House of Bruar, or Kenmore and the delights of Loch Tay, whilst more locally Moulin Village with its superb pub and micro brewery are an easy walk. A light lunch is available for all, if you wish, but keep some space for Chef’s Hot Beef Buffet Dinner later on, followed by some very traditional Jazz with Jim Petrie and Friends to complete the evening. For the Children We do recognise how special a time Christmas is for the smaller ones, and on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day there will be afternoon activities for those between 5 and 12, and our storyteller will help complete the youngsters enjoyment of the holiday.
If you are also planning a visit to Ireland the Castle Hotel Group in Dublin City Centre offer comfortable Georgian hotel accommodation.

With the water temperature staying unseasonally low the first springers have been reluctant to make an attempt at the ladder this year. However natural instinct can only be held back for so long and in the last week of April 300 went through with the temperature still below the critical 10 deg.
